As Summer Comes to a Close

There has been a lot going on this summer.  I spent two weeks in NYC before moving back to California.  After a few weeks at home with my parents, I moved down to Long Beach, CA.  Here are some highlights from my summer.

I finally saw the Phantom of the Opera and went on a photography tour of Central Park with my new camera!

I played volleyball with my dad and I bought a car.

I got hired to teach French at the high school across the street from UCI and I moved to Long Beach.

I've been seeing old friends and making new friends with some of Eric's co-workers.  I even get to spend most Sunday mornings at the beach!

I went to Michigan for my Grandma's 80th birthday tea party at my Aunt Suzanne's house!  I was the photographer and got a photo of everyone as they wished Grandma happy birthday!

The Tea Party was GREAT!  The Petit Fours were delicious and the Buck-Eyes were mouthwatering!

While in Michigan, I even tried on the family wedding dress.  Both Grandma and my Mom wore it!

I went to the World Series of Volleyball that was right on the beach - just a 10 minute stroll from my new apartment!

I got to see Andy and Dana's new house and learned that I will be Tante Liane! (an AUNT!!!)

As the school year draws nearer, I've been starting to get set up for the new school year in my new classroom.  There is still a lot of work to be done there, but I"m starting to meet my colleagues and get prepared for the start of the year!

Here are a few snippets of my place as it is getting all set up!
A ducky hot-tubbing in my tea above scenes of Paris...
A new blue couch and a bed all set up in its nook!!
Bookcases standing tall and curtains hanging high.
A table framed by an arch.
