Not much to report

The past few days have been rather uneventful. Monday was class and chatting with the Rachael and Nikki while doing a bit of writing. Just before dinner, Sophie and Katrine got home and saw their new room. They seemed to like it very much. Dinner was alright, though at the end of it somehow we got on the topic of dancing and music... We didn't know the dances Rose and Phillipe were talking about... so after dinner they demonstrated (yes I have a video of it)... and then we had a mini dance party (just the 7 of us). It was so much fun and really weird/awkward. After the dance Rachael and I had a lot of energy and decided to go downtown for a bit and actually ended up running into some of the people in her program and hanging out with them.

Tuesday I had class in the afternoon... I just lounged about in the morning after my run and studied a bit for my quiz... I felt the quiz went alright, though it took an hour and a half... a little longer than my normal quiz definition. Class got out at 4:30 and I ventured to the post office... and then home. In class we had been introduced to phonetics and Rachael loves phonetics so she helped me practice the sounds and my pronunciation.

Wednesday I had class in the morning. We did a little more phonetics and got our tests back. I did alright on it. Right after class I went to Geant with Rachael and Nikki because we needed to buy supplies for dinner... Rose had asked us to do an "American" meal for everyone... We decided on Philly Cheese Steak Sandwiches (which Nikki and I have each only had once and Rachael had never had... but it sounds American... right?), grilled vegetables (which I don't recall ever really having before, but apparently it's a traditional summertime dish?), french fries (duh), and som'ores (*angels singing*). After picking up supplies, I swung by the CEA office to do a few things and swung by the SNCF office to see what trains I'll need to take soon.

As far as cooking dinner... we were all assigned jobs. Rachael was in charge of the meat. Nikki was in charge of grilling the vegetables. I was in charge of the french fries.... Seems straight forward, right? Well I'll tell you, making french fries from scratch (I'm talking about starting with potates in my hand...) takes... a long time.... but, the were AMAZING. I will rave about them and probably try to make them at home sometime (using an oven that doesn't need 3 separate knobs turned and Celsius conversions...). The food was all really good and everyone seemed to enjoy it a lot, though we all ate way to much food. And then we had the som'ores... I love som'ores. The "graham crackers" we got, we 2-3 times the thickness of our graham crackers at home and tasted airy and yummy. The entire meal seemed to be a hit.

After dinner Rachael, Nikki, Rose, and I cleaned up and made a dish line... Rose washed, Rachael rinsed, I dried, and Nikki put away the dishes. It didn't take too long, though we weren't the cleanest of cooks... We used a lot of dishes and every surface in the entire kitchen... After we finished the dishes... Nikki inquired about the ... interesting lavatory stalls au fac. The turkish toilettes... Well that sparked a discussion in which Rose... demonstrated the concept of how to use one... It was hilarious...

Today I had class in the morning and then came back here to eat a few of the leftovers from last night. After that I went to downtown, had a crepe, and j'ai fait des soldes! (I went shopping at the sales.) The sales end this weekend so I had to take advantage... well.. at least go and look a little. I did buy a skirt (at Promod), though I refrained from buying other things. After that... I came back here... and here I am!
