Yesterday evening the boyfriend of a previous homestay student arrived here (she arrived today). He's very funny, he's a forty or so year old french man, who teaches classes in Japan. We all had a laid back evening of chatting. It was sometimes a little hard to follow all the discussion, but only 'cause I didn't know the author or a detail like that.
Today I met up with a girl from my school named Ashley who is from Canada and we went to a flea market! It was pretty cool (but BOILING outside, I still don't think I've recovered). She loves to second hand shop, she even found something for me (that I of course wasn't looking for)! It was actually really nice since she really wants to improve her French and insists that we always talk in French. I bought a wallet :) it's brand new and in blue leather and it's nice and small! And I also bought a simple black summer dress (that Ashley found). I had to buy it since it was only one Euro and is rather cute.
Afterward we headed back to downtown and went our separate ways. I had lunch and then was going to go read in the park. I was searching for a place to sit in the shade when this man (older since those are the only ones that decide to bother me) started talking to me. Apparently something about me screams AMERICAINE!!!! and he talked to me a little and then when I sat down at a bench he asked if he could sit and talk with me and I said no, I have a book to read. As he was leaving he said something along the lines of "You are truly beautiful, could I take a picture of you?" I just looked directly at him and said no. And thankfully he left without another word. I managed to not look horrified or anything when he asked that.
When I pulled out my book, there was something liquidy and brown on it. I thought my leather bag was melting or something... But little did I recall... I've carried 2 chocolates in it since Thanksgiving... I came straight back here to work on cleaning everything. Bérengère returned at this time with her Japanese homestay student and her bf. She helped me clean it up some and she thinks we can save my purse!
Once that was finished we sat around and talked - mostly they all caught up with each other and I listened, maybe participating a few times. After I little while I went and laid down since I was still dying for the sun I had this morning.
I have school starting again tomorrow! It is also a cinema festival this week. After I see one movie at full price, all the other showings I attend are only 3 euro. so hopefully I'll be seeing a lot of movies this week! I'm already planning on going to see How to Train Your Dragon again!!! It's just called Dragons here though, but I'm excited!
Well, there you go: an unbiased opinion on your beauty!
