This past Sunday I took it pretty easy and just went to the beach. We went to La Grande Motte instead of the one I normaally go to - I wasn't very impressed. It was actually perfect "spend the entire day at the beach" weather for the first hour, and then clouds arrived. In the evening it poured, but luckily we were already back and inside.
Monday - I started my second task at work - calling homestay families to arrange rendez-vous at their houses to see what the family is like and update their information. It was an interesting process that first morning. I did manage to get a hold of a few families and make a rendez-vous. Afterward I worked on my pamphlet more. Before coming home to take a very needed nap. After dinner, Bérengère, Lindsay, and I went to the outdoor movie festival since it was the first day. The theme is about reality and fantasy of America, so the first film was Big Fish.
Tuesday, I had my first rendez-vous. It went really well and I had a great time chatting with the woman there. During lunch I walked around a little extra trying to find info of where ppl should go to eat. Then I worked late with Anne visiting a perspective business that she might place interns at. In the evening I stayed in and touched up a few things on my pamphlet because I had to send it in to Anne for a primary editing.
Wednesday morning I visited 2 museums to make sure the info in my packet is accurate (I have a section on which museums are worth going to). In the afternoon I sat in on a meeting Anne had about welcoming a group that arrives in September. I also sat in on an interview with a girl who was looking for an internship, and that was pretty interesting... In the evening, Ashely came over and had dinner with us and then we watched L'Auberge Espagnole. It was a fun evening.
Thursday I had a rendez-vous in the morning to which I was thirty minutes late because I got thoroughly lost and was on the completely wrong end of the insanely long street. Turns out the woman wasn't even there, but I did the interview with her brother who was visiting her. There was a fair bit of confusion. In the afternoon Anne went over the corrections she wanted made on my pamphlet and now I have a clearer idea of what I need to get done this coming week. After dinner I talked with my mom and worked a bit on my Fulbright application.
Friday I had another morning appointment and then I did two museums in the afternoon. I browsed Gilbert a bit before going to the language exchange. And being as it was Friday, I went to the Estivals and met up with some people.
Today I went to Orange with Lindsay and Bérengère. We had lunch with Bérengère's niece and then went and visited Vaison la Romaine. It was a nice afternoon, but long.
