Thursday I went to an art gallery opening (vernissage) at LWS for a photography exhibit on WWI and a sailboat trip. It was quite small and only okay. It did make my art showing look a little more legitimate though. The only differences were that this photographer's photos were framed and being sold for a lot of money -- I was not impressed by most of the photos. I definitely think a number of my photos are better, though the photographer did have some cool dolphin and whale snaps. There were 2 photos that I really liked - one of a deserted cross-ironwork with the sun rising behind it and a single poppy in the corner - and the other was off stone steps descending down into the sea/ocean.
On my walk to the gallery opening - I walked across the Pont des Arts...
Friday evening I went to my belly dancing class. I'm considering seeing if anyone I know here has a sewing machine - I might make myself a skirt for class. Everyone come to class all dressed up in the stuff the teacher sells, but I might be able to make a skirt for less then 60-70 euros... depending on the cost of fabric... We'll see if I have the time - it would be a good hw break for me to do some sewing, but it would be easier to do on a machine than by hand again!
Saturday, today, I went out to see Lincoln with one of the teachers I from work, Lea. I really enjoyed it. Definitely was a good movie. Then I headed off to tutoring IN THE SNOW to finish my afternoon off.
