Week 3!

The past week hasn't been too eventful. Summer is in full swing here which means, obviously, that there is massive construction on the tram lines. Starting Monday it now takes me 45 minutes give or take to get to school instead of 15. It's rather annoying. I'm thinking of starting to walk in the mornings to school since that'd get me there in a more reliable time frame.

Monday I bought a bag that can carry my notebook - before I'd been carrying my note book in my arms and having a bag. Tuesday, Claudia and I went back to the smoothie restaurant and ate there. Afterward we wandered back going into all the little boutiques lining the alleyways. Wednesday I had my conversation class and then watched a movie at the school about Jeanne d'Arc. Thursday I went to the beach with Claudia and a friend of hers from Columbia - they talked in Spanish the entire time.

Friday I came back here and worked my butt of on Fulbright stuff, before going to the Estival in the evening. It was a nice way to pass the time. I met a lot of people from the school I had never seen before and every chatted (mostly in French!!!). The downside - I missed the bus buy like one minute so I walked back since that was faster than waiting for the bus.

Saturday morning I continued to work really hard on Fulbright stuff. I finished it and even managed to access the application site (I've been having a lot of problems accessing it abroad) and I "submitted" my application to the SOP office at school. In the afternoon Bérengère took me and two friends of mine (Ashley and Caroline) to Saint Guihlem le Désert. It was a enchanting little town. It reminded me a lot of the little town with the Abbey we visited last year after les Grottes de Verdun. On the way there we stopped at Pont du Diable - which was an amazing Canyon like area with a river for swimming in. I'm hoping to go back there for an afternoon soon. (I'm hoping to figure out putting some photos up soon.)

In the evening I switched rooms. I'm now in the master bedroom - I couldn't talk Bérengère out of it. Apparently she always gives this room to students who stay here for a long time. The only reason I wasn't in here from the start was because of her two friends who were here (they left Wednesday and Thursday). After dinner I went over to Caroline's to watch a movie with her and Ashley. I did not miss the bus this time.

Today I've spent most of the day relaxing. I went to a church service this morning (Evangelist - closest church to wear I live. It was pretty cool to understand everything and sing the songs. What I didn't expect was that the normal Congregation is only 60 ppl and since it's vacation time only 30 or less ppl would be there. A number of ppl introduced themselves to me by asking if I was from the country and there were two girls there around my age that a woman (who had the scariest teeth I've ever seen in my entire life - as in I'm honestly scared of having nightmares about them) brought over so I got to talk to them. I'm hoping to go back again in the next two weeks.
