Around mid-morning, I headed out to start catching public transport to Potsdam. It was pretty simple to get there and didn’t feel like it took the hour that it takes to get from Mitte, Berlin to Potsdam.
I took a bus tour around Potsdam since it turns out 70% of the things to see are not downtown. The bus tour was decent. I wasn’t on the best side of the bus, but I could still see most things. We had three big stops where we got out and the tour guide showed us around and told us about places. He was giving the tour and everything in German; so I had headphones on the bus and had some luck following his tours outside, though luckily his English was quite good and he just retold me all the information in English, which let me see how much I actually understood!
After the tour, I wandered through the downtown a little. I found a cute little café that is VERY popular with the locals – I took the last table and then ppl started asking other ppl if they were leaving or if they could share tables… Basically, I made a good choice and had some yummy duck ravioli and veggie soup followed by a chocolate tart. I continued walking through downtown ‘till I got to the train station and hopped on to come back to Berlin.
I got some delicious Mexican food for dinner!!! I’ve been missing Mexican food – it doesn’t exist in France.
Overall, I think I could easily visit this area again, there is still a lot to do here! (I’m talking about both Potsdam and Berlin)
