Snippets of my week:
Tuesday – I learned that Scooby Doo is quite popular with kids here.
Wednesday – On my way to classes, the ticket checker on the train (a jovial Grandpa-like figure) told me I have a wonderful smile and to never change (great way to start the day). My German class went pretty well and I bought glove liners before I had tea with my French friend Lea from the Uni.
Thursday – I thrilled most of the boys at the middle school by wanting to talk about one of my favorite cartoons – Dragonball Z.
Friday – This was the first night I spent in the dorm by myself. I called my brother Andy up and wished him a Happy Birthday! It was actually incredibly relaxing evening and I made tons of progress on.. something (further details will hopefully come in the next week!!!!!).
Saturday – I’ve had a nice relaxing morning and have been getting ready for tonight. In a few hours, Isabelle (one of the high school staff members – career office I think?) will be picking me up and showing me around Sarreguimes, her town. Later, I’ll meet her kids and family and go out to a Carnival celebration in a costume. I’ll take photos!!!
Note: no further snow - temperatures are at below -7... and that isn't the "feels like."
