I've stayed home from work to rest up and try to get better (also since Monday there was no way I would be able to do oral activities and teach without a voice the entire day).
We had a TAPIF-NYU mixer at NYU Wednesday night, one of the teachers I work with came (she was one of 3 teachers who came from any of the schools we work at). There was a presentation about interculuturism, which was not the most informative. Then a "cocktail dinatoire" or a dinner cocktail, which just had a lot of mouth-sized bits to eat. It was funny having conversations with people that evening. My teacher added a new dynamic to the normal conversation at school. It was fun in the end.
Thursday I went into work and ended up only having one hour of class. During that hour of class, the class watched Bowling for Columbine - my presence was not necessary. At night we had our vocabulary quiz - I studied all day since we have had on average 300 words to learn a week with no in class support. The test was beyond easy (and not be cause of my studying).
Friday was my photo exhibition at NYU. Sadly my photos were not ones that were hung in the main room, so very few people came to see them. (http://www.flickr.com/photos/76555621@N02/sets/72157632286011637/) However, afterwards there was a graduate dinner and it was pretty fun. The food was decent.
I started with a mushroom soup.
Then I had scallops (and half of Stephanie's lamb since she was full).
They wouldn't serve me the ice cream alone... the pineapple was way to sweet for me, but my classmate Julia took care of that for me!
Oh, and NYU gave me a flower for participating in one of the art programs there. I took the photo when I got back from dinner.I took the weekend particularly easy since I was still getting over my cold. Saturday I did go out and tutor my tutee for an hour, which was nice. And Sunday after my normal market outing, I headed back out and over to the Bastille to see the rally there. As I've never been to a rally, I was pretty excited to see what might be going on. I made sure to stay on the outskirts, but there were so many people there! I stayed for about 30 minutes and not much seemed to be happening other than all the traffic was being rerouted. I strolled home stopping in a lot of shops that are normally closed on Sundays.

Had three finals lined up for the following week... I'll let you know how they went in my next post.
