Talk about a dinner! – Friday, March 2nd

Dominique stayed late Friday night to eat with me at “La Résidence.” "La Résidence" is my school’s cooking school. So dinner was made and served by my students and the cooking teachers were hovering about… I felt like I had some things to celebrate, so I got a little dressed up (I wore my contacts – aka – I was almost incognito…).

Upon Dominique and my arrival, the students faced a new challenge – they were only allowed to speak English to us… They did better with their English than I expected, I was impressed.

Course 1 – L’amuse bouche
Red Bell Pepper Soup with Eggplant-Caviar

Course 2 – l’entrée
Terrine of lentils and king prawns with a salad

Course 3 – le poisson
Sea bass over a bed of ratatouille with a stuffing on top and a cream sauce

Course 4 – la viande
Margret of duck and thinly sliced potatoes in the form of a flower

Course 5 – le fromage
A plate of three cheeses and orange jam

Course 6 – le dessert
There were numerous choices, but I enjoyed the Mousse au Chocolat

And all of that was accompanied with an aperitif and 3 wines picked to match the dish (juice was also an option). Basically, everything was delicious and I’m very happy I had a chance to eat there once!
