I got to Nancy in the afternoon and Lèa and I walked around Nancy for a bit before we headed off to her house in the countryside. We took the tram to the end of the line and then waited for her mom to come and pick us up. When we got to her house we had a little snack and I talked with Lèa’s mom for a bit.
Lèa and I of course spent most of Saturday chatting and closer to the evening I helped her practice and perfect her English presentation she has on Wednesday. It was about South America and the presence and problem of racism that she experienced living there last year (she spent a year abroad there). I even got to watch a movie from the Prom she went to while she was there! We had a lot of fun.
The next morning – I fed her Kangaroos.
Lèa’s dad is an exotic veterinarian and they have had their kangaroos for about 10 years. They used to have little Kangas too, but there was a dog attack one year and then they stopped having joeys. ☹ But... the Kangaroos were pretty awesome - not something I was expecting! - I have lots more photos, but thought I'd put up a couple...
For lunch we had a Fondue Bourguignonne, which is the meat and oil fondue. It was quite good. After lunch, Lèa and I chatted more while she packed up her suitcase for the week since she was going to take the train with me later. She goes to school in Metz and has an apartment there, where she stays during the week.
Before going to the train station, we went on a little hike – mostly just to show me the area around the house. Amazing.
It was a great weekend.
