Interactive board - Monday, Dec. 12

I had 5 hours of class today – 2 hours of evaluations + 1 hour My Family Christmas for Dominique’s classes; 1 hour My Family Christmas + 20 min evaluation/40 minutes My Family Christmas with Françoise’s classes. Grading students is a heady thing, but then very awkward when they don't do well and because the French grading system is SO different than ours. In between all that I went and did a tiny bit of grocery shopping. It was very cold.

After school, there was a special meeting for people who wanted to learn how to use the Interactive Boards that are starting to be used in schools (at least in France…). It looks just like a white board, but you can’t write on it with a dry-erase marker (!!). It links up with the computer and projector and then there is a little pen just for the board. You can make presentations and draw and write on the board with this pen – and it shows up – even though the “pen” is just electronic and doesn’t have any ink. I attended the meeting and it was interesting… but there didn’t seem to be a hole lot you could do that Powerpoint can’t do… or that you couldn’t do with a few pieces of paper.
