Friday I had a tough time settling down to work on my
homework, but still managed to do various assignments. I have my Monday grammar presentation planned
out and typed up in a thorough manner *fingers crossed*. I found out what papers I need to update my
French health card and picked up another book for class. The evening was great, I met up with Uncle
Scot and Luan for dinner since they are passing through Paris! We had great food at Au pied du fouet in the 7th arrondissement. It was wonderful to chat with them and hear
about their trip and about a variety of other things too! We covered many subjects during our 4 hour
“dinner”.
Saturday was filled with homework. I almost have my essay fine-tuned and spent
about 5 hours finding information for my presentation on the film DANTON for
Tuesday. The day wasn’t very eventful,
but, once again, I had a wonderful evening out for dinner with Uncle Scot and
Luan. We had such a great time Friday
that we decided to repeat the event since we all have to eat anyways, might as
well be with company! As before, the
dinner and conversation was great. We
might have a chance to repeat it next week when they pass back through Paris
before going home, but that’ll depend on how my schedule for teaching works
out!

As is my new weekly tradition, I went to my Sunday market
this morning and picked up fruit and veggies for the week! Then I hunkered down to tackle homework and
actually made lots of progress! By the
time I have class tomorrow, I just might have all the homework done for the
entire week – my theory is, that if I can finish all my homework for one week
before the first class of the that week, then I will never fall behind on my
work… I got to Skype with Eric in the
evening and called my parents to chat as well!
I even discovered that the freezer-box in my mini fridge actually
freezes – much to my dismay when I found out my steak was a chunk of ice – but will
be very handy in the future!
Overall, pretty wonderful weekend and I’ll be starting my
teaching job in the morning!!
