My teaching classes are going pretty well. The teachers are pretty amazed that all the students talk in my classes - the students tell them "There's no choice! We have to!". Since I generally have such small classes, I can really make sure that I talk with each student and that they participate. Everyone seems to be really enjoying my classes (even the girl who told me that she hates America because it's too big, she doesn't like the lifestyle, and you can't understand people there... I tried to explain that Texas isn't America - she can't generalize her one visit to Texas as the entire US being bad - and then tell me that she loves London since it's small...). The English teachers are surprised that some students say hi to me in the halls. Actually they are amazed students say hi to me in the halls. I think some of it is because of my smiley disposition - I always appear so happy to see them and it puts them at ease.
Wednesday and Thursday were particularly good days this week. There isn't much of a reason why, but everything just seemed to go right both days. I have at least one teacher who is going to work with me on my pronunciation and perfecting my French outside of class and am waiting to hear back from another teacher.
The fact that I'm on teaching vacation hasn't really sunk in yet since I'm still trying to catch up on homework. I really want to get ahead on my school work during the vacation so that once my teaching starts back up in two weeks, I will be able to relax a little more than I have the past few weeks. On top of that, midterms are during the vacation so I need to stay on top of everything.
This weekend I've mostly been doing homework with a few errand breaks. Yesterday I got to talk with my grandparents, my parents, and Eric! It was quite the treat! Today I went out to lunch with a classmate, Kelly, and 2 of her friends as it is Kelly's birthday.
