A Friday – Nov. 18th

I spent a large part of the morning trying to organize my room – I’ve accumulated a lot of papers already and I didn’t know what to do with them all…

As far as work, in my first class I evaluated/graded almost an entire class on a little oral exam. They had to tell me their name, spell it, where they live, their nationality, and their occupation. It was definitely something else to have to try to give marks on what ppl were saying while they were saying it. Luckily, the teacher had laid out a very good table that I just had to check the boxes and she explained exactly what she wanted…

My second class wasn’t as good – I introduced myself with my Livermore presentation and then observed the class. One of the girls threw down her book during her mini oral practice presentation because the teacher critiqued her pronunciation of 98 (the student had said 88… not 98… and the teacher wasn’t mean about it)… A senior in high school… throwing a tantrum – that sure can sour someone’s day.
