Two days of work... sort of

Normal Day – Monday, Nov. 7th

Just a normal day of classes, worked three hours and went grocery shopping. I did a lot of relaxing. I think the kids in the dorm are getting quieter in the mornings… They didn’t wake me up for breakfast! I barely made it to grab some!

Laundry and Cooking – Tuesday, Nov. 8th

Did three more hours of classes today, and now I’m done for the week…

I ran off in between my classes – I realized if I didn’t do a small load of laundry, I wouldn’t have anything to wear next week since I’m gone this Thursday (when I normally would have done laundry). There were some new faces in the laundry mat today, probably ‘cause it was the morning. The other woman (who had her 4 or 5 yr old with her) doing her laundry kept making little comments to me – like about how it take forever to dry… and eventually I didn’t understand one and had to say I didn’t understand. She thought I was German (since that’d be the most logical), then guessed English… I told her American. Oh how America is paradise in the eyes of many here… She never even asked where in America I was from… She was very nice and asked me a few questions about what I’m doing here, for how long I’ll be here, etc. She was tough to understand, but it was clear we were both having the issue – she must have a strong accent from the area and well, I still have a non-French accent.

Tonight, I’m making a stew for dinner. I’m going to basically fill up my little pot as much as I can – that way I’ll have dinner for tonight and tomorrow after my classes. And now I’m off to the bakery to get a little fresh bread for my dinners!
