Hombourg-Haut – Wednesday, Jan. 11th

I only had class today from 8am to 9am, so I decided I go and check out Hombourg-Haut today. There was a problem with the busses, so instead of leaving on a bus around 9:30am, Dominique dropped me off in Hombourg-Haut once she finished work a bit after 11am.

After a little mishap, I managed to get myself on the correct street to visit the old city. I had planned to eat lunch in Hombourg-Haut, but soon discovered that would be impossible. It was by far the most friendly looking ghost town I’ve been in.. It was completely deserted, but still looked lived in (the time to visit was probably not smack dab in the middle of the day on a Wednesday). Overall, I was not overly impressed by the town and couldn’t enter any of the churches. With a little sun and not-hungry stomach, it could be a nice town.

A few of the more interesting things I came across… were front yards.

I made it back to Freyming-Merlebach without too many problems. Once I got back I started looking for places to eat since I still needed lunch. I ended up going into a bakery where they had Carbonara. There aren’t a lot of options to start with, but half of them were closed ‘cause it’s Wednesday!
